The Next Generation of Off-Road Adventure Vehicles: The 2018 Jeep Wrangler

For a long time, the Jeep Wrangler has been an iconic SUV for anyone with a desire to take on some off-roading adventures. On a sunny day, all you need to do is unzip the roof, start it up and feel the wind in your hair as you drove. Late last year, the 2018 model for the Jeep Wrangler was unveiled: the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL.

This all-new version on the Wrangler takes at least one of those routine Jeep model activities and redesigned it: the roof. The Wrangler JL has an available Sky One-Touch Power Top, that is given a similar framework to old school convertibles, and is power-retractable. No longer will a Wrangler owner suffer that age-old problem of pinching one's fingers unzipping the roof.

More Than Just a Roof Redesign

The Jeep Wrangler JL, considered to be the fourth generation of this Jeep model, has a lot more to the redesigned exterior than just the roof. On the front, you'll find a grille with a similar look to that of the Jeep Wrangler TJ model of the late 1990s and early 2000s, complete with a more "rake-looking" appearance and round headlights built right into the front grille. Like most other previous models, the Wrangler JL comes in a two-door and four- door (previously referred to as "Unlimited") models, all are four-wheel drive.

Much of the exterior of the Wrangler JL is made from aluminum, such as the front windshield and doors, rather than traditional steel of previous models. This makes the Wrangler JL a lot more lightweight, aerodynamic and makes certain components of them easier to remove for that open-cabin, Jurassic Park-esque Jeep experience.
